Psalm: 2
Iconography: Soldiers, armed with spears and shields confront Christ. Why have the nations raged. Christ strikes back with an iron rod.
Art: On this page the initial was drawn first and then the script was wrapped around it. Notice the break in the text at the top of Q and the awkward compression down the side. Paint was applied after the script: the last two lines are overlapped by paint. The gilding is rough and hasty. The rubric was written at a different time from the rest of the quire as a thicker nib and larger letters were used. Pp73-74, 91-92 form the outer bifolio of quire 6 and, as observed by Peter Kidd, are written by a different hand to the rest of the psalter, namely Scribe 6.
