Psalm: 72
Iconography: The psalmist is stripped to the waist, bending over. Because my heart is inflamed: and my reins are changed: and I am brought to nothing and knew not. As a beast of burden I am become with you…He cranes around to fix his eyes on God in heaven. For what have I in heaven: and besides you would I desire upon the earth

Historical Relevance: When Christina stayed the night at Shillington, just after making her secret vow at St Albans, she makes her private dedication to God with these words. (Talbot, 1998, 40-41): For what have I in heaven: and besides you would I desire upon the earth. My flesh has fainted away and my heart god of my heart: and the god my portion for ever. For behold they that make themselves far from you shall perish: you have destroyed all who are disloyal to you. But it is good for me to adhere to god: to put my hope the lord god. That I may declare all your praises
