Psalm: 101
Iconography: The psalmist asks for God's attention in his hour of need. Lord hear my prayer and let my cry come to you. St Augustine interpreted this psalm in terms of Christ's agony in the garden of Gethsemane, where he asks God to remove the cup from him and he is strengthened by a comforting angel (Luke 22: 42-43) (AP, 242; PL, xxxvii, 1296). The same episode is illustrated on p39, in the Life of Christ cycle.
