TranslationSee here the two disciples, Cleophas and Lukas, walking to the castle Emmaus, sad at heart and talking in turns about the death of Jesus. See here our saviour who appeared to them as he accompanied them saying What is this conversation you are having together in turns as you walk and you are sad. Cleophas said to him Are you the only pilgrim in Jerusalem who does not know what things have happened there in these days. Jesus said to them What things. And they said About Jesus of Nazareth whom the Jews crucified. And he said to them O foolish and slow of heart to believe in all all that the prophets have spoken. Was not Christ bound to suffer these things and thus to enter into his glory And beginning from Moses and the prophets he began to interpret what was in all the scriptures about himself. And when they approached the castle Jesus made as if to go on further. And they said Stay with us See the sun as evening approaches. And he went in with them.
