TranslationThe lord destroys the councils of nations: moreover he rejects the plans of the people:/ and he rejects the counsels of princes./ But the counsel of the lord remains for ever:/ the thoughts of his heart in generation/ and generation./ Blessed is the people whose god is the lord: the people whom he has chosen for his inheritance./ The Lord has looked down from heaven: he has seen all the sons of men./ From his dwelling which he has prepared:/ he has looked back upon all those who live on the earth./ Who has made the hearts of every one of them:/ who understands all their works./ The king is not saved by much power: and nor shall the giant be saved by his own/ great strength./ Deceptive is the horse for safety: neither shall he be saved by the abundance of his strength./ Behold the eyes of the lord on them that fear him:/ and on them that hope for his mercy./ In order that he might rescue their souls from death:/ and feed them in famine./ |
