Translationlest perhaps their enemies might be proud./ And should say our eminent hand./ and not he lord has done all these things./ They are a nation without advice and without wisdom: if only they would be wise and they would understand: and would make provision for their last end./ how should one pursue a thousand: and two put to flight ten thousand./ Was it not because their god had sold them: and the lord had shut them up: For our god is not like their god: and our enemies are judges./ Their vines are of the vineyard of sodom: and of the suburbs of gomurra./ Their grapes are grapes of poison: and their clusters of grapes most bitter./ Their wine is the poison of dragons: and the incurable venom of asps./ Are these things not laid up in my memory: and sealed in my store house: Revenge is mine and I will repay them in [due] time: so that their foot shall slip./ the day of ruin is close: |
