Translationthey shall be weakened and perish before your face./ Because you have made my judgement and my cause:/ you sit on the throne which judges justice./ You have rebuked the nations and the wicked one has perished: you have blotted out their name for ever and for ever./ The spears of the enemy have failed in the end:/ and you have destroyed their cities./ Their memory has perished with noise:/ and the lord endures for ever./ He has prepared his throne in judgement: and he himself/ shall judge the world in equity:/ he shall judge the people in justice./ And the lord is made a refuge for the poor: a helper in/ good opportunity [and] in tribulation./ And let them trust in you who know your name:/ because you have not forsaken those who seek you lord. Play the lyre and sing to the lord who lives in sion:/ declare his fervour among the nations./ Because requiring their blood he remembered them:/ the cry of the poor is not forgotten. Have mercy on me lord: see my humiliation by my enemies./ |
