TranslationIf camps take up a position against me:/ my heart shall not fear./ If battle should rise up against me:/ in this I will hope./ I have asked one thing of the lord this I will search for: that/ I may live in the house of the lord all the days of my life./ That I may see the goodwill of the lord:/ and may visit his temple./ Because he has hidden me in his tent in the day/ of evils he has shielded me in the concealed place of his tabernacle./ Upon a rock/ he has exalted me: and now he has exalted/ my head above my enemies./ I have gone round and I have sacrificed in his tabernacle/ a sacrifice of loud cries: I will sing/ and recite a psalm to the lord./ Hear lord my voice with which I have cried out to you:/ have mercy on me and hear me./ To you my heart has said my face has sought you:/ your face lord I will seek./ Do not turn your face from me:/ nor turn aside from your servant in your anger./ Be my helper forsake me not:/ |
