TranslationNevertheless in a flood of many waters:/ they shall not come near to him/ You are my refuge from the trouble/ that surrounds me: my joy/ deliver me from them that surround me./ I will give to you understanding and I will instruct you:/ in this way in which you will walk:/ I will fix my eyes upon you./ Do not be like the horse and the mule:/ who have no understanding./ With bit and bridle [that] bind fast their jaws:/ who do not come near to you./ Many are the lashes of the sinner:/ but mercy shall surround him who hopes in the lord./ Be glad in the lord and rejoice the just:/ and glory all the virtuous of heart. |
