Translation

For you have saved us from them that afflict us:/ and those that hate us you have thrown into disorder./ In god we shall be joyful all the day:/ and in your name will confess for ever./ But now you have repulsed and thrown us into confusion:/ and you god will not march out in our armies./ You have turned us back behind our enemies:/ and they that hated us plundered for themselves./ You have given us as sheep that are food:/ and you have scattered us among the nations./ You have sold your people without price:/ and there was no great number in the exchange of them./ You have made us a reproach to our neighbours:/ a mockery and derision to them/ that are round about us./ You have made us for a likeness to the nations:/ a shaking of the head among the peoples./ All the day my shame is against me:/ and the confusion of my face has covered me./ At the voice of the reproacher and the abuser:/ at the face of the enemy and persecutor./ All these things have come upon us neither have we forgotten you:/
