TranslationI thought upon the days of old: and I had in mind the eternal years./ And I meditated in the night with my heart:/ and I was exercised and I swept my spirit./ Will god reject forever: or will he not reckon/ to be better pleased still./ Or will he cut off his mercy forever:/ from generation to generation./ Or will god forget to have mercy: or will he in his wrath confine his mercies./ And I said now have I begun: this is the change of the right hand of the highest./ I remembered the works of the lord: because I will be mindful/ of your wonders from the beginning:/ And I will meditate on all your works: and/ will be exercised in your inventions./ God your way is in the holy [place]: what god is great as our god:/ you are the god that does marvellous things./ You have made your power known among your peoples:/ you have redeemed your people with your arm/ the children of iacob and ioseph./ The waters saw you god: the waters saw you/ and they were afraid: and the depths were troubled./ |
