TranslationThey did not keep the covenant of god:/ and they would not walk in his law./ And they forgot his favours:/ and his marvellous works which he showed them./ In the sight of their fathers he did marvellous things/ in the land of egypt: in the field of taneos./ He divided the sea and brought them through:/ and he contained the waters as in a womb./ And he conducted them in a cloud by day:/ and all the night by light of fire./ He broke up the rock in the desert:/ and gave them water to drink as out of the a great depth./ And he brought forth water out of the rock:/ and made water run down as rivers./ And they added yet more sin against him:/ they provoked the most high to wrath in the place without water./ And they tempted god in their hearts./ so that they demanded food for their lives./ And they spoke evil of god: they said can god prepare a table in the desert./ Because he broke up a rock and waters overflowed:/ and torrents flooded./ |

TranscriptionNon custodierunt testamentu[m] dei: / et in lege ei[us] noluerunt ambulare. / Et obliti sunt benefactorum ei[us]: / et mirabilium eius qu[a]e ostendit eis. / Coram patrib[us] eor[um] fecit mirabilia / in terra egypti: in campo taneos. / Interrupit mare et perduxit eos: / statuit aquas quasi in utre. / Et deduxit eos in nube diei: / et tota nocte in illuminatione ignis. / Interrupit petram inheremo: / et ad aquavit eos velut in abysso multa. / Et eduxit aquam de petra: / et deduxit tamqua[m] flumina aquas. / Et apposuer[un]t adhuc peccare ei: / in ira excitaverunt excelsu[m] in inaquoso. / Et temptaverunt d[eu]m incordib[us] suis. / ut peterent [a]escas animab[us] suis. / Et male locuti sunt de deo; dixer[un]t nu[m]q[u]id / poterit d[eu]s parare mensa[m] in deserto. / Q[uonia]m p[er]cussit petram et fluxer[un]t aqu[a]e: / et torrentes inundaver[un]t. / |
