Translationthe flesh of your holy ones for the beasts of the earth./ They have poured out their blood like water round/ about ierusalem: and there was no one to bury them./ We are become a reproach to our neighbours:/ a scorn and a mock to those that are round about us:/ how long lord will you be angry forever:/ shall your zeal be kindled like fire./ Pour out your anger upon the nations that have not called upon your name:/ and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon your name./ Because they have devoured iacob: and have laid waste his place./ Do not remember our old injustices:/ let your mercies quickly prevent us because we are become excessively poor./ Help us god our saviour: and for the glory/ of your name lord deliver us: and for your name’s sake be favourable to our sins./ Lest they say perhaps among the nations where is their god:/ and let him become known among the nations before our eyes./ The revenge of the blood of your servants which has been shed:/ let the groaning of the fettered come before you./ According to the greatness of your arm:/ take possession of the children of them that have been put to death./ |
