Translationagainst the prayer of your servant./ You will feed us with the bread of tears:/ and give us for drink tears in measure./ You have made us an objection to our neighbours:/ and our enemies have mocked us./ God of hosts convert us:/ and show your face and we shall be saved./ You transported the vineyard out of egypt:/ you cast out the nations and planted it./ You were the guide of its journey in its sight:/ and you planted its the roots and it filled the land./ The shadow of it covered the mountains:/ and the boughs of it the cedars of god./ It stretched out its branches all the way to the sea/ and its shoots all the way to the river./ Why have you destroyed its wall:/ so that all who march by the way pluck [its fruit]./ The boar out of the wood has destroyed it:/ and a single wild beast has eaten it./ God of hosts turn again: look down from heaven/ and see and visit this vineyard./ |
