Translationam poor and in hardship since my youth:/ having been exalted now am humbled and troubled./ Your angers have passed upon me:/ and your terrors have troubled me./ They have surrounded me like water all the day:/ together they surrounded me./ Because of misery you have put friend and neighbour:/ and my acquaintances far from me./Psalm 88 With my holy oil I have anointed him (Psalm 88:21) I will sing forever [of] THE MERCIES of the lord./ I will declare your truth/ through my mouth/ to generation and generation./ Because you have said mercy shall be built up forever/ in the heavens in them your truth shall be prepared./ I have laid down an agreement with my chosen ones:/ I have sworn to david my servant:/ |
