Translationand there was none in their tribes [who was] infirm./ Egypt was glad at their departure:/ because fear of them lay on them./ He unfolded a cloud for their protection:/ and fire to give them light by night./ They asked and quail came:/ and he filled them with the bread of heaven./ He divided the rock and waters flowed:/ rivers ran in the dry ground./ Because he remembered his holy word:/ which he had held [in the sense of promised] to his servant abraham./ And he brought out his people with joy: and his chosen ones in gladness./ And he gave them the territories of the nations:/ and they had the labours of the peoples./ That they might keep his just dealings:/ and seek after his law./ |
