Translationthose who built it have laboured in vain./ Unless the lord watch over the city:/ he who guards it watches in vain./ It is worthless for you to rise before light:/ rise after you have sat/ you who ate the bread of sorrow./ When he shall give sleep to his beloved:/ behold the inheritance of the lord are children the reward the fruit of the womb./ As arrows in the hand of the mighty:/ so are the children of them that have been shaken./Blessed is the man who has filled his desire with them: he shall not be thrown into confusion when he shall speak to his enemies in the gate./ Psalm 127 For you shall eat the labours of your hands BLESSED ARE ALL/ who fear the lord:/ who walk in his ways./ Because you shall/ eat the labours/ of your hands: blessed are you/ and it shall be well with you./ |
