TranslationLet them be made like grass on roofs: which withers/ before it is plucked up./ With which the reaper has not filled his hand:/ or he who gathers the sheaves his bosom./ And those who passed by did not say the blessing of the lord be upon you:/ we have blessed you in the name of the lord./Psalm 129 [on book: Let your ears be attentive] FROM THE DEPTHS / I have cried to you lord:/ lord hear my voice./ Let your ears be attent/ive to: the voice/ of my prayer./ If you shall watch out for/ wickedness lord:/ lord who shall uphold it./ Because with you there is forgiveness:/ and/ on account of your law I have waited for you lord./ My soul has waited for his word:/ my soul has hoped in the lord./ From morning watch even until night:/ |
