TranslationPsalm 136BY THE RIVERS/ of babilon there/ we sat and wept: while we remembered/ sion./ On the willows in its midst:/ we hung up our instruments./ Because there those who led us into captivity/ demanded of us words of songs./ And those who led us away [said]:/ sing to us a hymn of the songs of sion./ How shall we sing the lord’s song: in a strange land./ If I shall forget you ierusalem:/ let my right hand be forgotten./ Let my tongue stick to my jaws:/ if I do not remember you./ If I shall not make ierusalem:/ the origin of my joy./ Remember lord of the children of aedom:/ |
