Translationbe dark to you: and night shall be lig/ht as the day: as its darkness and its light are alike [to you]./ Because you have possessed my reins [literally kidneys]:/ you have received me from my mother’s womb./ I will acknowledge you because you are fearfully highly esteemed:/ your works are marvellous: and my soul/ knows very much./ My bone is not hidden from you that you made/ in secret: and my substance/ in the lower parts of the earth./ Your eyes have seen my imperfection:/ and all shall be written in your book:/ days shall be formed and no one in them./ But god to me/ your friends are become exceedingly honourable: their pre-eminence is strengthened very much:/ I will number them and they shall be multi/plied more than sand: I rose up and I am still with you./ If you will kill sinners god:/ men of blood depart from me./ Because you say in thought: they shall receive/ your cities in vain./ Have I not hated those who hated you lord:/ |
